Hi, I'm the editor if this website, so I thought I'd kick off the guestbook. Looking forward to some alumni signing in, as well! I was the Corps recruiter, and First Rifle during my watch Feb-Oct '84. I currently run the Color Guard for the 107th Air Control Squadron in Phoenix, AZ. Check out that website, too.  Lot's of high-visability events.  I have the Keesler D&B to thank!

We did not have a fancy name like the Blue Knights In 1954 ,just the KAFB D&B Corps. We had to play for school student shift change at noon every weekday. The advantage was getting excused from any student details. I recall the best times we had was marching in the Mardi Gras parades and then given a 3 day pass to stay in N.O. They even allowed the USAF busses to wait for us for the 3 days as the Bus Drivers had 3 day passes also. One of my A.F. base assignments was Ramstein AB in Germany where I wangled a slot in the Ramstein AB D&B Corps.We traveled all over Western Europe. It sure brought back memories when I saw your web page. Thanks for your time . . . Sess

Wow! Looks like I can set the record for the oldest member in the book so far. Also the best time of my 7 + years in the Air Force. I served under Lt. Jerry Williams and later 2nd Lt. McIntosh. Sure wish someone had a tape of the crazy 8 cadence we marched to. We gave the other troops fits at troop change. I sure hope the word gets around on the site. Great site that will only get better. I have some pics stored away if anyone is interested in the corp form my era.

My Best year in the military!!!!! I was the Bugle Sargeant for most of that time. I even recognized some people in the homepage photo. I've got pics of the corp performing if anyone is interested

It appears as though things have changed quite a bit since my time ... but it's good to see the corps is still around. I marched corps for 7 years before becoming Drum Sergeant for the BK's, and I still march corps today with Northwest Venture, in Seattle But, I'll never forget the good times we had marching drum corps at Keesler ... I wouldn't mind doing it again .........

I have many fond memories of my time with the Knights, and even some pictures. I was at one time or another corps recruiter, horn sgt, corps arranger, and (THIS will date me!) Dubbed Blue Knight. Interestingly enough, like Cathy Clark, I ALSO marched Blue Devils... in 1984. My best memory? Marching a VEEERRRRRRRRYYY long Mardi Gras parage in New Orleans. At one point, the route doubled back and the corps was marching toward a local marching band. Musicality went out the window as BOTH units started aiming their horns in e ch other's faces as we passed and played at a volume of "molto blastissimo."

WOW ! It's nice to see the corps still going. I marched and taught during my stay there in 1980.We had a great time and not to mention a very decent corps. 25 horns,10 percussion, 10 CG. I went all to Red Rope while I was there. So HIT IT, BOOT !! Of cour e if these terms aren't used anymore, it won't mean much. Hope to see you on the streets someday. It would be great since tech schools are 6-8 monthslong, that a competetive Keesler corps could go DCi. Wouldn't that be great. It's great to know about this organization! I've been instructing local bands and now work with Drum Corps Holland/Color Guard Nederland and always told everyone the AF only had a corps at the Academy in Colorado. Comments :   Being in the D&B was the best time of my life! From Thursday night open portions, to the Garbage Can Parties, it was the Greatest! Being a boot wasnt that hot, but after getting through the 72 (twice, dammit!) made it all worth while.

Comments :   I used to march with the Phantom Regiment for 8 years. I had more fun in my 6 weeks with the Blue Knights than I did with the Regiment. I was just talking to someone about how we could only walk on the first two rows of tiles in the hallway.

Comments :   I love this site because it brings back such wonderful memories! A very dear friend, who is now departed, was a Drum and Bugle member at Donaldson Air Force Base in 1956-57(?)so I do relate to the stories and lives of the Drum and Bugle Corp. members.

Comments :   I was at Keesler for almost a year & got into the D&B corps after my first 2 weeks. Jerry Williams was the boss. I was one of the upstairs squad leaders & roomd with the drum sarg (little Larry) It was the year Hurricane Betsy hit the gulf.
