I was at Keesler from June 76 till Feb
77. I was Baby Huey the time I was there.
We
made front page below the fold of the Keesler news.
![]() That's me with the base. They
mixed up the
names.
![]() My daughter was born while I was in
the
Corps. When I had my rope inspection,
the head of the STYX (can't
remember her name) let my snuck my wife in
the dormes and let her stay
with her during time I was preparing for the
exam. Since I lived
off base, they had to clear out a dorm room
for me to clean.
![]() Since
my wife was pregnant during my inspection, the girls
snuck her in to
stay in the dorm that week-end. My daughter was
born wile I was
there. She played bass in her high school band.
![]() I remember one parade in particular. We were being hosted by the American Legion. It was a rather long parade. About half way thru, an elderly lady, maybe in her 70's, drunker than a skunk, marched beside of us for at least 1/4 mile or so. All the time smoking a pipe. It was all we could do to keep from losing it. Of course after the parade, the American Legion opened up the bar, and most of us were drunk, too. Kenny
